This scheme sits on a quiet private road surrounded by an eclectic mix of properties, many of which have not been updated for some time.
The detached dwelling is south facing with a large site and amazing views across the countryside but suffers from a small kitchen which was isolated from the dining and living spaces.
As part of our brief, we sought to minimise wasted circulation and maximise the views out to the rear garden by careful positioning of the key living areas whilst providing other more functional secondary spaces.
The complete internal reconfiguration has transformed the house into what feels like an entirely new dwelling.
Externally the old timber cladding was removed and has been replaced with crisp render coupled with clean yellow brickwork.
We undertook all RIBA work stages from commencement of the project including obtaining planning approval, building regulations drawings and construction of the scheme with sign off and handover to the client.
During construction we produced a variety of joinery drawings based on the clients brief and input from the project architect, constructing the bespoke items on site with our own carpenter.
Over the following year we will be submitting this project for multiple awards.
